Belgian GP Qualifying Results: Lando Norris claims 4th pole of the season as Hamilton's Ferrari hell continues
Lando Norris delivered another sensational qualifying performance at Spa-Francorchamps, snatching pole position for the 2025 Belgian Grand Prix — his fourth of the season.
The 25-year-old Briton edged out McLaren teammate and current championship leader Oscar Piastri by just 0.085 seconds, setting a blistering time of 1:40.562 around the iconic 7.004km circuit.

This result sets Norris up for a potential third consecutive race win, as he continues to build momentum in what is fast becoming his most competitive Formula One season to date.
Meanwhile, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc secured third, while Red Bull’s Max Verstappen — who earlier claimed victory in Saturday’s 100km sprint — will line up fourth.
The 27-year-old Dutchman, who has been less dominant than in previous seasons, will nonetheless remain a key threat in Sunday’s main event.
Hamilton’s Ferrari struggles continue
While McLaren celebrated a front-row sweep, Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton endured a weekend to forget.
The seven-time F1 champion was knocked out in Q1 after his fastest lap was deleted for exceeding track limits.
Speaking after the race, a disappointed Hamilton said: "I got to apologise to my team because it's just unacceptable to be out in both Q1s. It's a very, very poor performance for myself."
Lewis Hamilton: "From my side, another mistake. I really have to look internal, I have to apologise to my team because it's just unacceptable to be up in both Q1s. It's a very, very poor performance from myself."

Hamilton will start 16th on Sunday — a sharp contrast from his victory at Spa just last year, which was awarded post-race after George Russell’s disqualification.
Saturday’s sprint race had already gone awry for the Briton, who spun during qualifying and finished a lowly 15th.
The 40-year-old remains winless and without a podium finish in his Ferrari career, a streak that is growing increasingly difficult to ignore.
Title fight tightens between McLaren duo
With 12 of the 24 races completed, Piastri holds a narrow nine-point lead over Norris in the drivers’ standings.
But Norris’ recent form, including back-to-back wins in Hungary and Silverstone, has reignited the championship race and injected real drama into McLaren’s garage.
Should Norris convert pole into victory on Sunday, the Briton could seize the championship lead for the first time this season.
The intra-team rivalry is shaping up to be one of the most compelling storylines of the 2025 campaign, and the stage is set for a dramatic showdown in the Ardennes.
