'We will meet again' — Salah sends special message to Alexander-Arnold after Liverpool exit
Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah shared a heartfelt tribute to his friend and teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is preparing to leave Liverpool at the end of the season after an emotional 20-year journey with the club.
On Monday, Alexander-Arnold, 26, confirmed the speculation surrounding his future, announcing he will depart Liverpool when his contract expires in June. In a moving interview, the England international described the decision as “the hardest I’ve ever made in my life.”
He reflected on his deep connection to the club, saying, “This club has been my whole life – my whole world - for 20 years. From the Academy right through until now, the support and love I have felt from everyone inside and outside of the club will stay with me forever.”
Following the announcement, tributes flooded in, with Salah leading the way. The Liverpool star took to social media to express his admiration and support, writing,
“It’s been a pleasure sharing a special friendship with you and playing alongside you. I wish you the best and I am sure we will meet again.”
Both players’ contracts were originally set to expire on June 30 this year, fueling uncertainty about their futures.
However, Salah put an end to the speculation last month by signing a new two-year deal, securing his place at Anfield until the end of the 2026-27 season.
Alexander-Arnold’s exit, meanwhile, marks the end of an era for the boyhood Red, who rose through the academy to become one of the club’s most influential players.
