Chelsea continue their Champions League journey with a convincing victory over Chiamaka Nnadozie's Paris FC.

Super Falcons shot-stopper Chiamaka Nnadozie was on the wrong end of a 4-1 thrashing as Chelsea beat her Paris FC side in the UEFA Women’s Champions League game.

The Blues hosted the French team at Wheatsheaf Park for their second UWCL group-stage game after playing out a draw in the first—a trip to Madrid.

Emma Hayes's side were at their ruthless best on the night, as a hat-trick from Samantha Kerr and a Sophie Ingle strike helped them reestablish dominance in the group.

How it happened

Chelsea started slowly, but soon played their way into the game and came agonisingly close to taking the lead, but for a poor Lauren James miss.

The former Manchester United star made amends in the 30th minute, however, as she played a deliciously weighted ball into the area for Kerr, who lifted it over the outrushing Nnadozie from close range.

Nnadozie pulled a brilliant stop in the 33rd minute to prevent Jessie Fleming from point-blank range, keeping her team in the game. Paris soon got a deserved equaliser in the 38th minute thanks to a floated header from Thea Greboval.

The second 45, however, was all Chelsea. Kerr reestablished her team’s lead three minutes after returning from the break, tapping in a Johanna Rytting Kaneryd cross from close range.

She further extended that lead seven minutes later, and that strike was the pick of the bunch. The Australia international outwitted her marker to collect a pass directly from goalkeeper Ann Katherine-Berger; she dribbled away from her markers and with Nnadozie yards away from her goal line, Kerr fired a lob shot above her and into the net.

32-year-old Welsh midfielder Sophie Ingle wrapped up the scoring in the 91st minute of the game, turning in a corner kick delivered by Eve Perisset.

Chelsea stayed second in the group despite the win, as Real Madrid were beaten by Swedish side BK Hacken.
