Al Ettifaq fans frustrate Ronaldo

The 38-year-old lined up with the rest of his Al-Nassr teammates in the Kings Cup clash against Steven Gerard’s Al-Ettifaq side.

The Faris Najd eventually won the heated tie, which saw both teams reduced to ten men in extra time thanks to a Sadio Mane strike.

Ronaldo received a hostile reception from the Ettifaq fans, with the crowd consistently chanting Messi’s name to taunt the Portugal international. Ronaldo did not have the easiest of games and entered the referee’s book as early as the 12th minute for dissent. He also registered only one shot on target in 120 minutes of action.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo supporters have insisted that the Portuguese forward is still the GOAT despite Lionel Messi winning an 8th Ballon d'Or.

A large section of football fans and observers declared Messi the greatest of all time after leading Argentina to World Cup glory last December in Qatar.

Ronaldo, who now plays for Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr has never hidden his desire to win even more Ballon d'Ors but his fans believe he is still the greatest no matter what Messi wins.
