Nigerian national team star forward Victor Osimhen is a topic of conversation in the Barcelona decision rooms.
Barcelona's interest in Victor Osimhen has not gone away, and according to reports, their desire for the player is growing by the day, as they have come to understand that their other marquee targets, Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, are unrealistic pursuits.
Barcelona's discuss interest
As Pulse Sports reported, Barcelona are preparing for a future beyond Robert Lewandowski after deciding that they will not renew his contract when it expires at the end of the season.
They had players like Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez on their list of targets, but the pursuit of those names has been deemed unrealistic.
While they have targeted talented youngsters like Fisnik Asllani and Karl Etta-Eyong, they are seeking a striker of proven quality, and Osimhen's name is being considered a feasible option.
According to a recent report from Fichajes, the Blaugrana hierarchy have actually discussed signing Osimhen, and making a move for him is on the cards for Barcelona in the summer.
"Deco and the sporting management believe that the Nigerian striker from Galatasaray fits the profile, potential and cost, fulfilling the urgent need to incorporate a goalscorer," the report read.
However, they will have to contend with Galatasaray's lofty valuation of the Super Eagles ace. Cim-Bom have no desire to sell Osimhen, but they have set a price tag of €150 million for him to deter suitors.
