Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti reveals Vinicius is fit and available to play against Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid face their biggest test so far this season when they face Atletico Madrid in LALIGA, and they would fancy their chances given their form and Carlo Ancelotti’s recent injury update on Vinicius Junior.

Los Blancos have maintained a 100 per cent record in all competitions this season, a feat they have had to achieve without some of their best players who are out injured; they can now have some respite as one of those players has returned to full fitness.

Real Madrid’s injury problems

Before the start of the season, Los Merengues lost their goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to a long-term injury, after the Belgian tore his anterior cruciate ligament. Star centre-back Eder Militao followed suit, suffering a similar fate as the former Chelsea man.

The cloud cast over Real Madrid’s start to the season became darker when Vinicius Jr. came off injured in the 1-0 victory against Celta Vigo.

What Ancelotti said

Vinicius returned to training with the rest of the Real Madrid squad along with exciting young signing Arda Guler, who got injured before he could truly entertain his new fans.

In the pre-match press conference ahead of their clash against Atletico in the Madrid derby, Ancelotti confirmed that Vinicius is fully fit and able to participate in the tie.

“Vinicius has 100% recovered,” he said, per Fabrizio Romano.

“For me, it’s difficult to leave players on the bench, the competition is very high in the midfield. You can't be sad if you've given your 100%.
