A Liverpool star reveals the exact moment his team collectively felt they were destined to claim the Premier League title.

Cody Gakpo has identified a specific match where his Liverpool teammates truly began to feel they could win the Premier League title.

Arne Slot’s men lifted their second league crown under the new format, their first since their 2020 victory, dethroning Manchester City after the latter’s four-peat.

Having clinched the title with April 27's 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur, the Reds did not lift the trophy until the final day, when they played out a 1-1 draw with FA Cup winners Crystal Palace.

"We had a lot of great games, maybe, the 2-0 win against City at home which really, we already had a very good feeling, but maybe this gave us more confidence that we could do something special this season,” said Gakpo via the Liverpool Echo

“I think that was a special moment. We had many special moments. We had many special comebacks, comebacks against Brighton at home, with 10 men we drew with Fulham at home which was a great game. 2-0 win Brentford away, I can name all the games. We had a lot of beautiful moments."
