Despite interest from top European clubs, Osimhen is set to remain at Napoli after Aurelio de Laurentiis confirmed they have agreed on a contract renewal.

According to Napoli owner Aurelio de Laurentiis, Nigerian ace Victor Osimhen has agreed on a new two-year contract extension with the Partenopei.

The 24-year-old striker was tremendous for the Naples-based side this season, leading them to their first League title in 33 years and picking up the Capocannoniere to go with it.

This has made him of interest to a number of top European clubs, casting doubts over his continuation with the Serie A champions.

What De Laurentiis said

Napoli named former Roma boss Rudi Garcia as their next manager, and at his unveiling, the Napoli top brass was questioned about the future of his prized asset.

He revealed that they have held discussions with the Super Eagles forward after the Scudetto party and have agreed on a two-year extension on his current deal.

The former Charleroi striker joined the Partenopei in 2020 from Ligue 1 side Lille, signing until 2025. And although he still has two years left on his deal, Laurentiis's statement claims Osimhen will be tied contractually to Napoli for two more years, until 2027.

"We already spoke with Osimhen before the Scudetto party, and we are in agreement on extending the contract for another two years,” Laurentiis said, per TMW.

“For the other players, we will also have to see and study with Garcia. “
