Arsenal are reportedly switching focus to a Manchester United target after a rumoured complication.
Viktor Gyokeres has informed Sporting Lisbon that he will no longer play for the club, as he seeks a transfer this summer.
The Swede’s decision, reported by Fabrizio Romano, stems from his dissatisfaction over a broken verbal agreement regarding his release clause, which the Lisbon club are reportedly not honouring.
Gyokeres's original pact, made with a former director, suggested he could leave for around €65-70 million, but the Portuguese giants are now demanding his full €100 million release clause.

Report: Man Utd eye #92bn Osimhen and Gyokeres alternative
Should Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres elude them, Manchester United are reportedly keen on a 25-goal forward available via a limited-time clause.
The development comes as Arsenal are now poised to intensify their pursuit of Gyokeres, TEAMtalk reports.
Their primary target, Benjamin Sesko, appears less likely to join due to high salary demands, causing negotiations to stall.
Both Arsenal and United are desperately seeking a potent new striker; while the Red Devils are also interested in Gyokeres, the Swedish forward reportedly prioritises a move to Arsenal, whose Champions League qualification makes them more appealing.
The Manchester giants had initially targeted Liam Delap, but he opted for Chelsea, where he is expected to compete with Nicolas Jackson at centre-forward.
What’s next for Man Utd and Arsenal?
Man Utd and Arsenal, who face off in round one of the 2025-26 Premier League campaign, hope to finalise more incomings by the start of pre-season in July.
