LALIGA side Getafe have already seen the positives of signing Manchester United's Mason Greenwood following a milestone on social media.

Getafe football club are already reaping the rewards of signing Mason Greenwood from Manchester United after reaching a milestone on social media.

The LALIGA side has seen remarkable growth on their social media account following the arrival of the United youngster. 

Greenwood joined the Deep Blues on deadline day as he looked to revive his career after almost two years of absence. 

Greenwood joins Getafe

The 21-year-old was one of three players signed on the last day of the transfer window as the Madrid side looked to strengthen their team ahead of the long season.

Greenwood has however had the biggest impact so far on the club following the peculiar nature of his transfer.

The United youngster is at the Alfonso Perez on a season-long loan move in a bid to restart his life following a difficult 20 months.

Greenwood has been out of action for almost a year following accusations of rape, assault and coercive behaviour levelled against him by his girlfriend Harriet Robson.

He was subsequently charged and arrested by the Crown Persecution Service, CPS.

However, the CPS eventually dropped charges against Greenwood before United’s internal investigation which lasted six months found the young forward to be free.

Getafe celebrate

United and Greenwood decided the best thing for both parties would be for him to restart his life and career outside the club.

Getafe stepped in to complete a deadline day transfer which has now transformed the club's social media pages.

The Deep Blues on Friday celebrates 40, 000 followers on their new English account on X.com which is expected to keep growing with Greenwood still at the club for the rest of the season.
