The 36-year-old defender, who spent 16 seasons with Real Madrid, expressed his gratitude for his time in the game and shared his excitement for the new challenges ahead.

Marcelo, who won five Champions League titles and six La Liga championships with Real Madrid, emphasised that he never lost his passion for the game.

The Brazilian defender also shared his desire to spend more time with his family, particularly his wife and children.
"I did everything I had to do in football, thank God I didn’t have any serious injuries, I played in the best team in the world and had the best teammates," Marcelo said on the Antena 3 programme El Hormiguero.
