Manchester United's star Kobbie Mainoo is reportedly desperate to leave the club in the January transfer window.
Mainoo's desire for more first-team action has intensified after struggling to break into Ruben Amorim's team this season, despite assurances in the summer.
United legend Paul Scholes publicly slammed Amorim's treatment of Mainoo, particularly after recent games, where the midfielder has been an unused substitute.

He must improve to play more — Amorim sends warning to talented midfielder
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has warned Kobbie Mainoo he must continue to improve if he wants more game time at Old Trafford.
Mainoo's only start this season came in a Carabao Cup loss to Grimsby, and his Premier League involvement has been limited to just 171 minutes across nine substitute appearances.
According to reports, the 20-year-old is determined to leave Old Trafford next month to bolster his chances of an England recall ahead of the World Cup. This follows a rejected loan request from Napoli during the summer transfer window.
The Serie A champions are understood to have retained their interest in a temporary deal, joining a host of clubs from England, Spain, and Germany who are monitoring the situation.
The decision to bring on defender Lisandro Martinez instead of Mainoo while United were searching for a late winner against West Ham further highlighted the midfielder's peripheral role.
On Friday, Amorim addressed the situation, defending his selection policy and stating he would not be influenced by external pressure. "I understand what you are saying. You love Kobbie. He starts for England, but that doesn’t mean I need to put in Kobbie when I feel I shouldn’t," the United manager explained.
Amorim insisted that team selection is based purely on merit. "I don’t know what is going to happen. It depends. If I see in training it is the best thing, I will put him in. That is the only way I know how to respond to that."
