Inter Miami superstar Lionel Messi continues to score goals, make assists, and break records in the MLS.

Lionel Messi is continuing to redefine what is possible in Major League Soccer, with records falling at his feet.

The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner just made history by becoming the first player to achieve 35 goal contributions in back-to-back seasons.

This milestone was reached after a masterful performance against New York City FC, where he scored twice and provided an assist in a comfortable 4-0 win.

Messi's recent spectacular form has been a major reason for Inter Miami securing a playoff spot, and the Argentine captain is not slowing down.

Lionel Messi still breaking records at 38

During his latest stunning performance against NYCFC, the 38-year-old showed his selflessness by letting teammate Luis Suarez take a penalty, even with more opportunities to add to his own stats.

Despite this, he still ended the match with two goals and an assist, taking his goal contribution to a staggering 37 for the season.

With this latest feat, Messi has now moved into third place on the all-time list for goal contributions, pulling level with legendary striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

There are still five regular-season games left, so it is only a matter of time before he surpasses the Swedish legend.

Messi will then set his sights on Carlos Vela's record of 49 contributions as he looks to keep himself firing ahead of the 2026 World Cup with Argentina.
