'Europa League' — Guardiola reveals harsh truth to Manchester City stars ahead of must-win clash
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has warned his players of the possibility of playing in the Europa League next season.
The match in brief
After Saturday's FA Cup final defeat, Manchester City sought redemption, starting strongly against Bournemouth. Kevin De Bruyne, in his final appearance at the Etihad, played a key role but inexplicably hit the bar from close range after good work from Omar Marmoush.
Mateo Kovacic’s red card gave Bournemouth hope in the second half, but Lewis Cook's dismissal seven minutes later negated the advantage.
City eased to a 3-1 win, with Rodri returning from injury and Nico González curling home a sublime third goal. Kevin De Bruyne's final appearance ended with a win, despite his earlier miss. Daniel Jebbison scored a consolation goal in stoppage time.

KDB matches Fabregas
Kevin De Bruyne created two chances in the victory over the Cherries, which took his total tally in the Premier League to 846. It took him level with Cesc Fabregas, who held the record for the most chances created since Opta began collecting the records in the 2003/04 season.
The Belgian would have the chance to go clear of the Spaniard in his final game of the season against Fulham as Manchester City tried to confirm their place in next season's Champions League.
De Bruyne and Fabregas jointly occupy the top spot. Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is in third place with 828 chances, Frank Lampard is in fourth with 802, and David Silva takes up the last spot in the top five with 793 chances created.
