Barcelona will be missing a number of key players for the UCL clash against Paris Saint Germain.
Barcelona have been hit with a major injury crisis as two of their starting players are effectively ruled out for the Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain next week Wednesday.
The Blaugrana began their UCL campaign with a brilliant victory against Premier League side Manchester City at St James's Park.
Game week two ups the ante, however, as they will be facing the champions. The difficulty level has now gone up, as star winger Raphinha and starting goalkeeper Joan Garcia have been ruled out of the clash.
The details
Raphinha was replaced at halftime in Barcelona's 3-1 victory against Real Oviedo on Thursday. After the match, Hansi Flick confirmed that the Brazilian was replaced due to an injury.
After further tests today, Dario Sport reported that the former Leeds man hurt his hamstring and will miss up to three weeks of action.
Joan Garcia, on the other hand, finished the game against Oviedo. The nature of his injury is currently unclear, but the report stated that he will also be sidelined for up to three weeks. Barcelona will also be missing Fermin Lopez and Gavi, who have also been sidelined due to injury.
Meanwhile, Lamine Yamal's return will serve as respite. The teenager has missed the last four games due to a groin injury. Pulse Sports reported that Barcelona's president said they expected him to return for the weekend clash against Real Sociedad. Today, the player himself shared a post on Instagram hinting at his return.
