"I want people to forget me" - Pep Guardiola makes massive statement

Pep Guardiola has been Manchester City's manager for nine years, with his current contract set to expire in 2027.

Guardiola extended his contract with Manchester City last year, a decision that reportedly impacted his marriage to Cristina Serra. However, it's unlikely he'll remain with the 'Citizens' beyond 2027.

During a Q&A session with fans on TNT Sports' TikTok account, via GSP, the Spanish tactician was asked how he wished to be remembered in the football world after retirement.

Pep's response? "I don't want to be remembered. I want people to forget me," he stated. This somewhat curious, if not peculiar, remark was interpreted by many as a "gesture of modesty. He doesn't want to be the centre of attention."

The Spanish coach has amassed no fewer than 39 trophies throughout his career with Barcelona, Bayern and Manchester City, including three Champions League titles – Europe's most important and prestigious club competition.

Despite this impressive haul, he still doesn't view himself as the greatest manager in football history.

"Perhaps Sir Alex Ferguson would be more deserving of that title because he was the best when it came to titles," he mused. The Scot won significantly more titles, a total of 47, with Aberdeen and Manchester United.
