Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has apologised to one of his star players for the way he has been treated this season.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has made a surprising admission about French forward Christopher Nkunku, revealing that he has been unfair to the player.
Nkunku was linked to Manchester United and Bayern Munich during the January transfer window, but ultimately stayed at Stamford Bridge.
Despite scoring 13 goals in all competitions,, he has struggled to break into Maresca's best lineup, starting just three Premier League games this season.

Maresca has revealed that he will explore alternative options to make his attack more strong in the absence of Mudryk.

Maresca's comments came after Chelsea's 2-1 win over West Ham on Monday night, where Nkunku was once again named as a substitute.
"Christo, since day one, has been very good, very professional," he said.
"Probably in some moments I have been unfair to him because he probably deserves something more."

Maresca expressed hope that Nkunku can contribute more to the team going forward.
"But hopefully, from now on, he can help us a little bit more."
Chelsea will now turn their attention to the trip to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton in the FA Cup Third Round.
