Real Madrid’s most expensive defender shrugs off pressure, expressing a serene confidence after joining his dream team.

Former Bournemouth player Dean Huijsen is unconcerned about becoming Real Madrid's most expensive defender after joining for £50 million

Despite the considerable price tag, the 20-year-old appeared remarkably composed during his presentation at the Valdebebas training ground, describing the move as "living a dream."

Huijsen maintained a serene demeanour, stating his intention to live his life and pursue his passion simply.

Huijsen described Madrid as "the club of my life”, reflecting the centre-back’s mood after signing for Los Blancos.

“I don’t care,” Huijsen said at his presentation. “I’m quite calm. I am me and I am going to live my life and I do what I like most. Madrid is the club of my life.

“I wanted to be here from the first day; once Real Madrid called, I didn’t have eyes for any other teams.

“For me, Real Madrid is the best club in the world and there is no other club when they appear.”

The defender admitted his initial plan was to remain at Bournemouth for another season, but his rapid development, including a full Spain debut in March, accelerated his transfer.

What’s next for Real Madrid?

New boss Xabi Alonso takes his Real Madrid side to the Club World Cup, and they will begin their campaign on June 18 against Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, followed by matches against Pachuca and RB Salzburg.
