Huijsen's interview
Spanish defender Dean Huijsen, currently with the national team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, recently spoke to the "AS" newspaper.
The defender, born in the Netherlands but representing Spain, admitted things moved quickly, but such an offer left little room for hesitation.

Asked whether his playing style is more reminiscent of Raphael Varane or Sergio Ramos, Huijsen stated, "Sergio Ramos is my idol. I try to emulate many aspects of his game.
"His style on the ball reminds me of Fernando Hierro. Perhaps that's because we're both from Malaga. Hierro had it all – skill, leadership, personality. He scored goals, he was a force. I aspire to be like him."
Huijsen also touched on his attacking instincts, saying, "My father was a striker and wanted me to follow in his footsteps, but that wasn't for me. Still, I probably get my nose for the goal from him. I have that instinct;
"I know where the ball will go. As a kid, I had a goal in my backyard and constantly practised hitting the crossbar with my left foot, which is how I became ambidextrous, although my right foot is dominant."

Huijsen confirmed speaking with manager Xabi Alonso: "We discussed the team, the squad, his plans, and his vision for the project. Obviously, we all want to win again, and we're confident we will."
He further elaborated on his role, "I consider myself a ball-playing centre-back, and Xabi Alonso wants me to contribute to the team in that regard. The specifics will become clear on the pitch."
Regarding his new teammates, he added, "I want to play with the best, and if I can play alongside Mbappé, Vinicius, Rodrygo, and Bellingham, that would be amazing. They are some of the best in the world."
