He truly is a unique talent - Barcelona legend heaps praise on Yamal's Messi-esque talent
Yamal, a product of Barcelona's famed La Masia academy, has drawn comparisons to the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner throughout his burgeoning career.
At just 17, Yamal has already achieved remarkable feats, securing La Liga, European Championship, and Golden Boy honours.
He recently signed a lucrative contract extension with Barcelona, keeping him at the Camp Nou until 2031. The deal officially commences on his 18th birthday, July 13th.
Iniesta speaks about Yamal
Speaking in Munich ahead of the 2025 Champions League final, as reported by Goal, Iniesta expressed his delight at Yamal's new contract: “It’s fantastic news for Barca fans that he's staying.
"I hope he can maintain this level and continue to improve because he truly is a unique talent. I hope he brings Barca a lot of joy.
“It’s been a fantastic season, winning two titles, reaching the Champions League semi-finals, and nearly reaching the final.
"Above all, the feeling the team transmits is fantastic – a young team with a lot of experience. If they continue on this path, I think they’ll be very close to winning titles every year.”
Yamal is currently preparing for the UEFA Nations League finals with Spain. He will then enjoy a well-deserved summer break as Barcelona looks to bolster their squad with more star players during the upcoming transfer window.
