Sanchez has been under scrutiny after a costly mistake in the Blues' 3-1 win over Wolves on Monday.

The error, which allowed Matt Doherty to equalize from a corner, was a major talking point after the game. The Spaniard has now committed four errors leading directly to opposition goals this season.

However, Maresca has dismissed the latest mistake as simply "part of the job" of a goalkeeper. "He's okay," Maresca said in his press conference ahead of Chelsea's game with Manchester City on Saturday.

"I understand it can happen."

Maresca went on to highlight that mistakes are a natural part of the game, not just for goalkeepers but for all players.

"How many times Moi [Caicedo] missed a pass? Many times. How many times does Nico [Jackson] miss a goal? Many times. How many times does Noni [Madueke] miss a cross? Many times," he pointed out.

"Robert has made four mistakes, It is not something strange, it is part of the job."

Victory for Chelsea will see them consolidate their top-four spot but defeat will push them out of the Champions League places.
