Guardiola reveals next target after Champions League win
After completing a historic treble with Manchester City, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed his next target.
The Spaniard's team defeated Inter 1-0 tonight in the final of the Champions League, the first in the club's history and his third as a football manager.
What Guardiola said
The former Barcelona coach spoke in a press conference after his team's victory over Inter Milan when he was asked what their next target was after the treble.
Manchester City finally banished their Champions League ghosts, and their investments since the takeover by Sheikh Mansour has paid off, as they have sealed their names in the pantheons of European football with the Champions League win.
They also did it in dramatic fashion, clinching two other major trophies along the way. Guardiola believes the next thing to do is collect more UCL titles to eventually become the most successful team in the competition, surpassing Real Madrid.
“Be careful Real Madrid,” he said.
“We’re 13 UCLs away but we're coming for you. We are on our way! If you sleep a little bit, we will catch you.”
