A breakdown of Victor Osimhen's impact for Galatasaray this season using numbers.

Due to their inconsistent run of form, Galatasaray, once runaway league leaders,  have seen their league lead cut down to four points by a resurgent Fenerbahce.

Okan Buruk's tactics are failing, the defence cannot stop shipping goals, they have been knocked out of Europe, and have only managed one win in their last six matches. However, a silver lining remains, one that keeps the Cim-Bom's Super Lig title hopes alive, Victor Osimhen.

Amid the chaos around him, the 26-year-old continues to thrive, scoring or assisting in almost every match he plays. And that might be the only reason Galatasaray retain their league title this season.

The numbers behind Osimhen's heroics

The former Wolfsburg striker is the current top scorer at the club with 16 goals. His tally is only bettered by Kristof Piatek in the entire division. Adding his four assists, Osimhen has the best goal contribution tally in the division, along with the Polish striker.

The Nigerian's goals and assists have won Galatasaray a whopping 28 points. They have currently amassed 65 points in the league this season, meaning Osimhen singlehandedly delivered 43% of their total. Without his direct goal contributions, the Cim-Bom will be on 37 points, which relegates them to sixth position on the log.

Ntvspor broke down the exact games his goals/assists won or saved points for Galatasaray as follows:

Kasımpaaa: 2 Goals (3-3) — One point won.

Besiktas: 1 Goal (2-1) — Three points won

Samsunspor: 2 Goals (3-2) — 3 points won

Sivasspor: 1 Goal (3-2) — 2 points would have been lost

Goztepe: 1 Goal (2-1) — 2 points would have been lost

Hatayspor: 1 Goal (1-1) —  one point won

Konyaspor: 1 Goal (1-0) — 3 points won.

Caykur Rizespor: 2 Goals (2-1) — 3 points won

Kasımpasa: 2 Goals (3-3) — one point won.

Eyüpspor: 1 Assist (2-2) — one point won.

Başakşehir: 1 Assist (1-2) — 2 points would have been lost

The numbers show Osimhen is indispensable for Okan Buruk's side this season and the club are well aware, hence their keenness to sign the Nigerian on a permanent deal, despite their huge financial commitment required.

Galatasaray are not expected to have the funds to complete the deal, hence, the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea are the front runners for Osimhen's signature in the summer
