Victor Osimhen's Galatasaray exit could open the door for Victor Boniface to join the Turkish giants

With Victor Osimhen closing in on a blockbuster move to Saudi side Al-Hilal, Galatasaray have reportedly shifted their focus to another Nigerian forward: Victor Boniface.

Turkish media claim the Bayer Leverkusen striker is open to a move as negotiations quietly heat up ahead of the summer transfer window.

Osimhen to Al Hilal imminent

Victor Osimhen’s €75 million release clause looks set to be activated by Al-Hilal, who are reportedly offering the Napoli star over €30 million per season in wages.

With the Saudi club already agreeing to stagger the payment over three installments and coach Simone Inzaghi backing the deal, Osimhen’s future appears to be wrapped up.

Reports indicate that all that is left is for Osimhen to confirm the move to Al Hilal with his signature, as well as the official crossing of i’s and dotting of t’s.

These reports put an end to Galatasaray’s hopes of retaining the services of Osimhen, who starred on loan for the Turkish side, helping them win the Super Lig and Turkish Cup title.

Boniface open to leaving amidst turbulent period

Galatasaray, left out in the cold, are now making moves for Boniface instead. The 24-year-old had a bright start in the Bundesliga, but injuries and limited minutes in his second season saw his output dip.

Still, his record, 11 goals and 2 assists in 27 games this season, shows there’s firepower waiting to be reignited by a potential move to Galatasaray.

According to reports, Boniface is open to the move, while Bayer Leverkusen have already set conditions for the Nigerian’s sale.

Just as his name returns to the headlines for a potential big move, Boniface shocked fans with a cryptic Instagram message after his most recent Super Eagles game, saying, “I don hang boot.”

In Nigerian slang, that means he's “hung up his boots,” possibly stepping away from the national team after struggling in his recent appearances for the Super Eagles.
