Turkish football analyst Emre Bol believes Galatasaray’s president, Dursen Ozbek, is being political in his suggestions that they can afford to sign Victor Osimhen. Bol believes Ozbek is bluffing and opines that the Nigerian will leave the club.

Galatasaray’s position

The Cim-Bom are sufficiently satisfied with Osimhen’s performance in his loan spell from Napoli and have publicly expressed the desire to sign him on a permanent basis.

The Nigerian is available for €75 million, his release clause, a fee €57 million more than their club record transfer—€18 million paid to Norwich for Gabriel Sara last summer.

However, communication from within Galatasaray is that they can come up with the finances by reaching strategic sponsorship agreements, a detail Bol doubts.

What he said

"I think Victor Osimhen will not stay. I don't believe the money has been collected either. Galatasaray fans, don't get me wrong. Because a figure of 70-75 million Euros is 80 per cent of Galatasaray's transfer budget,” he said per GsGazette.

He posited that the only reason the club say they can afford it is to avoid backlash should the fan-favourite striker leave the club at the end of the season.

"President Dursun Özbek is bluffing. He will throw the ball to Osimhen with classic words like 'Our money is ready, sponsors are ready'. They don't want the fans to say 'You missed it'. If this transfer was going to happen, it would have been announced by now. Why are you waiting?"

Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen has reportedly turned down Juventus, the club leading the race for his signature in the summer after Premier League clubs pulled out due to his wage demands.
