Finidi George: NPFL champions Enyimba name UEFA B-chasing coach as new boss
Enyimba, the reigning champions of the Nigerian Premier Football League, NPFL, have announced the appointment of Yemi Olanrewaju Daniel as their new head coach following the departure of Finidi George to the Nigerian Super Eagles.
Pulse Sports Nigeria can report that Finidi, who joined Enyimba in 2021, had a successful tenure with the club, guiding them to the NPFL title in his second season.
Enyimba names Finidi George’s Replacement
The former Nigeria international, however, has now accepted a prestigious position with the national team, leaving Enyimba with the task of finding a worthy successor.
In a statement released by the club, Enyimba confirmed the promotion of Assistant Coach Yemi to the position of Head Coach until the end of the current season.
"Coach Yemi Daniel will see out the remainder of the season, ensuring stability and continuity for Enyimba FC as they continue to compete," Enyimba stated.
Daniel, who is currently pursuing his UEFA B license, has been an integral part of the coaching staff and has demonstrated his commitment, expertise, and leadership qualities during his tenure.
The club expressed confidence in Daniel's abilities to lead the team forward during this transitional period, stating that his passion for the game and continuous pursuit of excellence make him the ideal candidate to guide Enyimba to further success.
Enyimba also extended its gratitude to Finidi George for his invaluable contributions and wished him the best in his new role with the Nigerian Super Eagles.
