Thiago's mother, Antonella Rocuzzo, was present in the stands, showing her support as Thiago represented Inter Miami. Wearing the number 10 jersey, Thiago started in the initial lineup, while Benja, sporting the number 19, came on as a substitute.

Following the draw, Thiago and Benja are set to face Barcelona, the former club of their legendary fathers. This match is crucial as it will determine their advancement to the quarterfinals of the tournament. Inter Miami needs to avoid a loss by more than two goals against Barcelona to qualify and eliminate Real Sociedad.

How LaLiga FC Futures tournament works

The LaLiga FC Futures tournament features several teams, including seven Spanish league clubs: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Real Sociedad, Sevilla, Betis, and Villarreal.

They are joined by international teams like Flamengo from Brazil, Inter Miami, Orlando City, Ideasport SA from the United States, and Hassania Agadir from Morocco.

These sides will be vying for the coveted trophy at the end of the tournament, won last by Atletico Madrid, who are defending their crown in the United States.
