Enyimba coach salutes Finidi George
In a heartfelt message on social media, Olanrewanju hailed Finidi as "selfless, kind and compassionate" as well as being ‘a goal getter and result oriented’ despite his huge legendary status.
"Working with you for the past two years has been fun and inspiring. What you have done for me cannot be overemphasized," Olanrewanju wrote.
"You have always taken me as your own brother and always want me to be happy and most importantly progress."
He added: "May the Host of Heaven and all the Angels of God go with you and cause you to do exploits and the impossible with the Super Eagles.....gracias (thank you)."
The warm words highlight the strong bond between the two coaches during their successful spell together at the NPFL giants, Enyimba.
Finidi led the Aba giants to the Nigerian title last season as well as the CAF Champions League, CAFCL..
His achievements have now earned him the chance to lead his country after being appointed as permanent successor to Jose Peseiro.
Olanrewanju clearly feels Finidi's presence will be sorely missed but has wished his former boss well in his new role with Nigeria.
