A Chelsea player's future at Stamford Bridge is hanging by a thread after latest revelation.
Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk is facing a substantial ban from football after being charged with a violation of the Football Association's anti-doping rules.
The 24-year-old Ukraine international was provisionally suspended in December following an adverse finding in a routine urine test, and he has not featured for Enzo Maresca’s team since this revelation.
Mudryk has vehemently denied knowingly using any prohibited substances or breaking any regulations, stating he is actively investigating how the positive test occurred.

FA statement on Mudryk
An FA anti-doping violation carries a maximum penalty of a four-year suspension, though the duration could vary between a month and two years depending on mitigating factors.
The FA confirmed the charge on Wednesday, citing the presence and/or use of a prohibited substance, but declined further comment due to the ongoing nature of the case.

“We can confirm that Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged with anti-doping rule violations alleging the presence and/or use of a prohibited substance, in terms of regulations 3 and 4 of The FA’s Anti-Doping Regulations,” the FA statement read.
“As this is an ongoing case, we are not in a position to comment further at this time.”
Reports from December suggest Mudryk tested positive for meldonium, an anti-ischemia medication not approved in the United States but prescribed in parts of Eastern Europe.
The substance, added to the World Anti-Doping Authority's banned list in 2016, can aid endurance and recovery.
