AFCON winner Brown Ideye criticises top European clubs for undervaluing Victor Osimhen, questioning why players of lesser quality earn €400k weekly while Osimhen faces transfer snubs.
AFCON 2013 winner Brown Ideye has reignited the debate over Victor Osimhen’s transfer saga, calling out Europe’s top clubs for undervaluing the Nigerian striker despite his world-class performances.
Osimhen, 26, enjoyed a prolific season on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, scoring 37 goals and providing eight assists to help the Turkish giants clinch both the league title and the Turkish Cup.

Manchester United could be the biggest beneficiaries of Victor Osimhen's move to Saudi Arabia
Despite reported interest from top sides such as Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Juventus, none have matched his valuation or wage expectations, paving the way for a big-money move to Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal.

Reacting on social media, Ideye blasted European teams for hesitating to meet Osimhen’s reported wage demands, even as they pay similar or higher salaries to players he believes are not on his level.
)
“I don’t believe the top 5 clubs in Europe can’t pay 350 or 400k a week for a player like him. When players that are not on his level earn the same amount,” Ideye posted on X, formerly Twitter, expressing disbelief at the reluctance of elite clubs to secure Osimhen’s signature.
He added, “Had to be some other issue we all don’t know about for sure,” hinting at possible factors beyond salary demands influencing the clubs’ decisions.

Ideye’s comments reflect growing frustration among Nigerian football circles over the perceived lack of respect for Osimhen’s achievements and market value.
Meanwhile, the latest report states that the Nigerian striker is set to remain in Europe after rejecting Al Hilal’s improved offer.

As reported by Pulse Sports Nigeria, SSC Napoli and the Saudi giants had reached an agreement for a deal, with Osimhen poised for a lucrative switch to the Saudi Pro League.
However, Osimhen seems determined to spend his immediate future in one of Europe’s top five leagues.

But the debate over his true worth and the willingness of European clubs to recognise it shows no sign of slowing down.
