Liverpool set an unwanted Premier League record in Monday’s Premier League defeat against Brighton.

Liverpool were defeated 3-2 by Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday night, continuing the Reds’ winless run since clinching the Premier League title.

Despite twice going ahead through Harvey Elliott and Dominik Szoboszlai, the Seagulls mounted a second-half fightback to score through Kaoru Mitoma and Jack Hinshelwood to clinch maximum points at the Reds' expense.

Arne Slot’s men failing to secure maximum points leaves the Merseyside club winless in three matches since their Premier League success on April 27.

Since defeating Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 at Anfield, Liverpool have lost away games at Chelsea (3-1) and Brighton (2-2) as well as throwing away a two-goal advantage on home soil to draw with Arsenal.

Securing one point from a possible nine after winning the league means Liverpool have become the first champion in the Premier League era to go winless in three consecutive matches after claiming the top-flight crown.

The ongoing run has coincided with Mohamed Salah’s mini-drought, which has seen the forward neither score nor assist since that 5-1 triumph over Spurs last month, leaving him one shy of Andy Cole and Alan Shearer’s goal-involvement record of 47.

What’s next for Liverpool?

Liverpool host FA Cup winners Crystal Palace on the final day at Anfield, bidding to end the campaign on a high.

The Reds’ title lift will take place after full-time on Merseyside.
