Emma Hayes announces shock Chelsea departure, set to take USA job

Emma Hayes has resigned from her role as Chelsea Women's head coach after 11 years and will reportedly take charge of the United States Women's National Team.

According to latest reports, Emma Hayes will leave her role as Chelsea Women's manager to take charge of the United States Women's National Team.

Hayes is the most successful manager in Women's Super League history, having led Chelsea to 15 trophies in 11 years at the club.

Emma Hayes leaves Chelsea

Hayes arrived in 2012 and has won six league titles, and five Women's FA Cups, famously guiding Chelsea to a domestic treble in 2020-21. 

The 47-year-old has been named FA WSL Manager of the Season six times and was inducted into the division's Hall of Fame in 2021. 

Co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley said: "Emma has been one of the biggest drivers of change in women's football. "Her achievements at Chelsea are unrivalled and will live in the club's history forever.
