Arsenal’s striker hunt sparks major summer fire sale

After what looks like another season of falling just short in the Premier League title race, Arsenal are ready to address their biggest weakness, a lack of a prolific goal scorer.

The Gunners have been linked with several high-profile strikers, including Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko, and Lautaro Martinez, but it is Osimhen who remains at the top of their wishlist.

To fund this ambitious move, Arsenal are reportedly set to part ways with Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jorginho, Kieran Tierney, and Thomas Partey, the Ghanaian international whose injury struggles have limited his influence at the Emirates.

According to reports, the departures of these four players could free up £500,000 per week in wages, while their combined market value sits at approximately £55 million.

However, Arsenal’s transfer budget still falls short of the fee required to land Osimhen, with Napoli demanding around £68 million for the 2023 CAF Player of the Year, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray.

Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool are all in the hunt for a new No. 9, and with Arsenal’s recent lack of trophies, Osimhen might be tempted to join a club with a proven track record of silverware.

The Gunners’ project under Mikel Arteta is undoubtedly exciting, but questions remain over whether the club can convince a world-class striker like Osimhen to lead their line.

With the summer transfer window looming, Arsenal must move swiftly to finalize their squad overhaul and ensure they land the elite forward they so desperately need.
