The Transfer Saga

The transfer saga began after Jackson, a Senegalese international, fell out of favour at Chelsea following the arrivals of new forwards, including Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.

Bayern Munich, seeking to strengthen its attack, quickly entered negotiations for a loan deal. The two clubs reportedly agreed to a deal worth an initial €15 million loan fee, with a potential total package of up to €80 million if a permanent move was made.

Jackson, keen on the move, was permitted to fly to Munich to complete his medical and finalise the paperwork.

The Reason for the Collapse

The deal fell apart at the last minute when Chelsea's newly signed striker, Liam Delap, suffered a hamstring injury during a Premier League match against Fulham.

The injury, which is expected to sideline Delap for six to eight weeks, prompted Chelsea's football leadership and manager Enzo Maresca to make a swift U-turn.

They decided that with Delap injured, they could not afford to let Jackson leave and ordered him to return to London. The move was called off before any final contracts were signed, leaving Bayern Munich and Jackson's camp frustrated.

What's Next for Jackson?

According to reports, Jackson was unhappy with the decision, but as no formal agreement was finalised with Bayern, he remains a Chelsea player.

Transfer market expert, Rudy Galetti posted on X, "More on Jackson-Bayern: the player is pushing to stay in Germany after completing medicals. With FCB playing right now, no decision will come before late tonight from Max Eberl. If the deal collapses, the club are ready to move on to another striker on their list."

Jackson is now expected to be reintegrated into the first-team squad, providing crucial cover for the injured Delap.

This turn of events puts the Senegalese striker in a challenging position, having been told he could leave, only to have the opportunity revoked.
