Chelsea have sent Nicolas Jackson to Bayern Munich on a shock loan move with an €80m buy option - a stunning twist for the FIFA Club World Cup champions.

Chelsea have pulled off a stunning transfer move by sending Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich on a shock loan deal, which includes an eye-watering €80 million buy option.

Premier League club Chelsea have finally realised their ambition to find a new destination for Jackson, after reaching an agreement with Bayern Munich.

Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal on his social media, revealing the key details: a one-season loan with a €15 million fee, plus a buy option clause for €80 million that is not mandatory, alongside a sell-on clause.

Jackson, 23, who joined Chelsea from Villarreal in 2023, is set to fly to Bavaria soon with his agent, Ali Barat from Epic Sports, to finalise the move.

The Senegal international has endured a turbulent spell at Stamford Bridge, with inconsistent performances and limited playing time under Chelsea’s new head coach, Enzo Maresca.

In addition, Jackson was notably left out of Chelsea’s squad for their recent Premier League match against West Ham, signalling his uncertain future and the Blues’ intent to let him leave.

Chelsea’s recent summer signings, including Joao Pedro from Brighton and Liam Delap, have further pushed Jackson down the attacking pecking order.

From Bayern Munich’s perspective, the club has been actively seeking reinforcements for their attacking line due to a lack of depth, particularly favouring loan deals over permanent transfers this summer.

Enzo Maresca told Jackson to leave the club.

As reported via Sportal, Bayern’s sporting director Christoph Freund neither confirmed nor ruled out the signing of Jackson but acknowledged ongoing talks.

Chelsea, eager to balance their books, have found their hefty valuation of Jackson a barrier to permanent moves, making the Bayern loan deal the most pragmatic option.

This arrangement offers Jackson a fresh start at a top European club while giving both sides flexibility for the future.

This mega loan move marks a new chapter for Jackson and a bold investment by Bayern as they seek to bolster their attacking options in pursuit of continued domestic and European success under Vincent Kompany.
