Speaking ahead of Pisa’s Serie A fixture against Lecce, Gilardino revealed that the young midfielder will leave for international duty immediately after the game.

The confirmation ends speculation surrounding the midfielder’s availability as Nigeria finalises preparations for the continental tournament.

First Senior Call-Up for the Rising Star

Akinsanmiro was named last week in Nigeria’s 54-man provisional squad for AFCON 2025.

The call-up highlights the rapid progress of the 21-year-old, whose performances in Italy have not gone unnoticed.
