The identities of the two individuals confirmed dead in the car crash involving Anthony Joshua have been uncovered.
The identities of the two dead in the car crash involving Anthony Joshua have been unofficially confirmed to be his personal trainer, Latif (IG: Healthy_Mindset), and strength and conditioning coach, Sina (IG: Sina_Evolve).
Joshua, 36, was involved in a fatal car crash this morning, December 29, 2025, on the Lagos-Ibadan motorway, Makun, Ogun State. While the Olympic gold medallist escaped with minor injuries, the accident claimed two casualties, according to official police reports.
Identities of the deceased
The reports from both the police and Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) confirmed that five people, including Joshua, were involved in the accident. Joshua and another passenger escaped with minor injuries; a third sustained serious injuries and has been hospitalised, while two individuals died on the spot.
Eye-witness videos and pictures making the rounds on social media showed the lifeless bodies of two individuals lying on the asphalt. Commentary from the eyewitness who made the video, as well as the phenotypical presentation of the remains, showed the two individuals to be foreign nationals.
While the head of one of the bodies was maimed following the clash, and the other faced the floor, people managed to identify them through their physical build and social media activity.
Joshua has been vacationing in Nigeria after his lucrative bout against Jake Paul. Latz, who goes by Healthy_Mindset on his social media and has previously holidayed in Nigeria with Joshua, was with him during this trip. Sina's social media post showed that he only entered the country hours before the incident.
Social media posts from Joshua and Latz showed the duo playing table tennis hours before the incident. Pictures of Sina, Joshua’s strength and conditioning coach, training the British-Nigerian ahead of the bout against Jake Paul resurfaced.
The condolences are already pouring in on both their social media pages, while individuals who knew them personally have started to send their prayers and wishes.
