Anthony Joshua dismisses Deontay Wilder ahead of Dillian Whyte rematch
British professional boxer of Nigerian descent Anthony Joshua is getting tired of the problems that keep the biggest fights in the heavyweight class from happening.
Following their first press conference following their decision to have a rematch, Joshua and Whyte squared off.
He had been linked to a matchup with American Deontay Wilder, another powerful former heavyweight champion.
But Joshua will fight Dillian Whyte next month rather than wait for that match to happen.
Anthony Joshua on Wilder
Despite Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing suggesting that a deal would be reached should Joshua win, Joshua ruled out facing former WBC champion Wilder.
Speaking about why he took the fight against Whyte instead of waiting on Wilder, He said, "Forget Wilder and them lot, they have been doing my head in for so many years,
"I don't really waste my time with time wasters."
Whyte on fighting Joshua
Whyte, on the other hand, insisted that the rematch against Joshua would be incredible.
He added, "I think it's going to be an even better fight than it was the first time.
"It'll be a good fight, we've still got a lot of hunger in us and I can't wait to get in there."
Despite their long-standing animosity, the two British heavyweights were both composed when they finally crossed paths again in person.
Before Joshua earned his professional retribution by knocking out Whyte in a tense 2015 British title battle, they boxed as amateurs, a match that Whyte won.
