After 6 months out, Wilder announces he will return to the ring shortly.

American professional boxer Deontay Wilder has announced his return to the ring in 2023.

Wilder was last in action against Robert Helenius in October 2022 at the Barclays Center, New York City.

Just three minutes into the fight, Wilder produced a massive knockout against Helenius to end the fight.

It was a massive win for Wilder after back-to-back losses to Tyson Fury.

Wilder was a WBC champion for five years before losing it to Fury.

He took to his official social media platforms to reveal he is set for a return to teh ring.

He said, “I have been enjoying family, life, and all that it brings, but now it’s time to return to the ring.”

The WBC called for a final eliminator between Wilder and former unified heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz.

Ruiz defeated Cuban heavyweight contender Luis Ortiz also last year to earn his status in the elimination fight.

Negotiations between Ruiz and Wilder have stalled since the start of the year.

Wilder has been in negotiations with Cameroonian-French professional mixed martial artist Francis Ngannou on a boxing fight.

Ngannou left the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and has now turned his attention to boxing.

Following Wilder's latest social media post it is now expected that the fight against Ngannou is done and scheduled for Saudi Arabia.
