Jimmy Butler could be on his way out of Miami after the team suspended him for 7 games following recent comments.

Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler has been handed a seven-game suspension, the team announced on Friday.

The decision comes a day after Butler expressed his desire to be traded, citing a loss of joy for the game.

According to the Heat, the suspension is due to "multiple instances of conduct detrimental to the team throughout the season and particularly the last several weeks."

Jimmy Butler has asked to leave Miami

The team also acknowledged that Butler and his representative have requested a trade, stating that "we will listen to offers."

Butler's comments on Thursday, following the Heat's loss to the Indiana Pacers, sparked controversy.

The six-time All-Star told reporters, "I want my joy back... I want to play with a dominant team."

The Heat are currently sitting in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, but the 35-year-old clearly believes they have no chance of competing for a championship and wants out.
