Clube Ferroviário da Beira started their BAL campaign with a blowout loss to Egyptian giants Al Ahly in their opener.
Petro de Luanda recorded a comfortable 89-71 victory over Ugandan champions City Oilers to start their campaign.
Playing on the second day of a back-to-back, Petro de Luanda put up 21 points in the first quarter to establish a 10-point lead.
Clube Ferroviário da Beira found their offensive flow to put up 28 points in the second quarter reducing the deficit to eight at the halftime break.
In the third quarter, Petro de Luanda took control of the game as they put up 31 points stretching their lead back to 22 points.
Clube Ferroviário da Beira were unable to recover in the fourth quarter as Petro de Luanda put in 101 points the highest so far to record a blowout victory.

Angolan basketball superstar Aboubacar Gakou was the star performer for Petro Atletico against Clube Ferroviário da Beira.
He put up 11 points, grabbed five rebounds, and provided two assists in 20 minutes of action.
