Rinsola Babajide: Super Falcons star joins AS Roma

Super Falcons of Nigeria star Omorinsola Omowunmi Ajike Babajide has completed a move to AS Roma Femminile.

The Italian side announced the signing of Nigerian international on their official social media platforms.

Babajide was shown proudly holding her new No. 30 jersey against the iconic red and yellow backdrop of the Roma crest.

This transfer marks a significant coup for the Italian powerhouse as they aim to claim the Serie A and Coppa Italia double.

Babajide penned a deal that will keep her at the club until June 30, 2027.

The 27-year-old has carved out a notable career across multiple leagues.

Rinsola started her career in England with Millwall, Watford, Liverpool, and Brighton & Hove Albion before embarking on a spell in Spain with Real Betis and Tenerife.

From 2015 to 2019, she represented the England national team at youth level, earning several accolades.

However, in 2023, Rinsola opted to switch her international allegiance to the Nigerian national team known as the Super Falcons.

Babajide is at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, where she scored and provided an assist as the Super Falcons defeated Tunisia in their group opener.

Babajide is expected to be in action when Nigeria takes on Zambia in their quarterfinal clash at the WAFCON.
