For the culture - Rinsola Babajide celebrates reunion with Ashleigh Plumptre

Super Falcons of Nigeria stars Rinsola Babajide and Ashleigh Plumptre have taken social media by storm.

The duo in a recent post featuring an image of them in their Nigerian kits showed off their similar backgrounds.

Babajide, a winger for UD Tenerife, and Ashleigh Plumptre, a defender for Al-Ittihad, both had decent seasons with heir respective teams.

Babajide was born to Nigerian parents in England and Plumptre raised in England with Nigerian roots.

Both players featured for England at youth level before switching allegiances to Nigeria.

The team up between Plumptre and Babajide happened during Nigeria’s goalless draw against Portugal.

Along with the photo was a message by Babajide that said, "For the culture"

This is not the first reunion between Plumptre and Babajide with the Super Falcons.

They both featured for the Super Falcons in an Olympic qualifier against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon.

Babajide and Plumptre return to action when the Super Falcons take on Ghana in their final friendly game before the WAFCON.
