Super Falcons of Nigeria defender Ashleigh Plumptre has shared her expectations for the 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Plumptre's focus is sharp, driven by a renewed sense of purpose as she prepares for her second appearance in the tournament.

Plumptre, who transitioned from representing England at the youth level to playing for Nigeria, views her role with the Super Falcons as a privilege.
She said, "It means a lot coming back here.
"It was a privilege obviously for the first time at WAFCON 2022 to represent Nigeria.

"But to be back here the second time with the same mission with had before.
"Probably with a more of a drive because with didn't achieve what we wanted to last time.

Plumptre on expectations
She also stated that aim is to win every game they take part in as the tournament progressed.
Plumptre added, "My aim is for us to be as present as possible.
"Take one game at a time, and have the belief that we can get a result in every game that we play."
Nigeria aims to navigate a challenging group stage that includes Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana.
Plumptre is expected to be in action when the Super Falcons take on Tunisia in their group opener.
