Super Eagles star and Fulham midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has found himself at the centre of another fiery social media spat, this time for clapping back at a troll who accused him of disrespecting Nigeria and his heritage.

It all started when an anonymous internet user attacked Iwobi, writing in a chaotic tirade:

Despite the harsh critique, Iwobi used his platform to show love to his homeland.

In another post, he shared a calmer message from a supporter who resonated with his frustrations over fan entitlement.

Iwobi responded graciously, writing: “I love Nigeria & I am a proud Nigerian.”

This isn’t Iwobi’s first rodeo with online backlash.

The footballer has previously taken heat from fans whenever the national team underperforms

But this time, the criticism felt personal, and Iwobi didn’t hesitate to defend both his reputation and his pride in being Nigerian.
