‘You still look solid’ - Mikel Obi hails ex-Chelsea captain Terry after his comment, ‘could still be playing’

The former Super Eagles midfielder was among the football players who attended the novelty event, which had two teams: one captained by Roberto Carlos and the other by John Terry.

Mikel assisted former Manchester United forward Michael Owen during the match, with Owen tapping in with ease.

After a 6-6 draw, Team Terry won 4-1 in the penalty shootout, with former Ivorian sensation Yaya Touré scoring the game-winning penalty.

John Terry praised the Nigerian player on social media following the game, saying that even if he is retired from professional football, he still plays at a high level.

The former Chelsea defender said via Pooja on X, “Great to see you, Mikel John Obi, could still be playing.”

In response, Mikel Obi commented: “The feeling of playing with you again, my captain John Terry. You still look solid at the back, old boy.”

Terry and Mikel played alongside during their Chelsea days, winning the Premier League and the Champions League.

Both players ended up becoming legends at Stamford Bridge following their feat with the Blues.
