'You are not the right captain'- David De Gea claims Bruno Fernandes shouldn't be Man United captain
Man United returned to winning ways against Fulham at Craven Cottage thanks to Bruno Fernandes injury time goal.
Roy Keane, among others, has been very critical of United captain Fernandes, saying that the Portuguese player ought to be taken off the armband.
But Fernandes responded emphatically to his critics at Craven Cottage with his late winner to overcome Fulham.
De Gea’s comment about Fernandes
In an Instagram post about the match, goalkeeper David de Gea, who has been linked to a comeback to United wrote a comment on social media.
De Gea wrote as reported by Daily Mail, '‘You are not the right captain’ along with a zipped mouth emoji.
The Spaniard seemed to be alluding to Keane's belief that Fernandes ought to be relieved of his captaincy.
After United's 3-0 defeat to rivals Manchester City last weekend, former captain Keane made that assertion.
Ever since United's season began with such turmoil, many have wondered what the future holds for ten Hag.
On the other hand, United's victory over Fulham was a positive step for Erik Ten Hag’s side who are looking to revive their season.
Fernandes has scored 66 goals in 199 games for Man United since joining the team in January 2020.
