Wolves vs Man United - Arokodare cameo in preparation for AFCON as Red Devils thrash the host
The Red Devils were in search of a win to move into 6th place on the EPL table after their disappointing 1-1 draw with West Ham.
However, they had to wait till the second half to secure a 4-1 win after playing a 1-1 draw in the first half, with Wolves getting their first goal under their new manager, Rob Edwards.
As it happened
The home side, still searching for their first win of the season and their first point or goal under new manager Rob Edwards, will be without the suspended Joao Gomes. Tolu Arokodare was also left on the bench in preparation for AFCON, as reported by BBC.
For the visitors, Ruben Amorim has made a single change to the team that drew with West Ham on Thursday, with Mason Mount coming in for Joshua Zirkzee, who moved to the bench.
Just 25 minutes into the first half, Bruno Fernandes gave Man United the lead, giving the visitors a brilliant start.
However, a few seconds before the halftime break, Wolves got an equaliser courtesy of Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, their first goal since October and first under their new manager.
United took the lead after entering the second half with Bryan Mbuemo’s tap-in after a lot of attacking pressure from the visitors.
Mason Mount then extended the lead by making it three for the visitors as they secured a comfortable lead in the game.
It did not end there, as Amorim's men went for the fourth goal to finish off the game following a penalty from Fernandes to get a brace on the night.
Manchester United sealed a 4-1 victory to move into sixth place in the table and continue their chase for European qualification.
