What Maresca said

The Chelsea boss revealed that Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill, Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia all missed training and are doubts for the match.

Palmer sustained an ankle injury in the previous game while the other three players also picked up knocks. Maresca admitted uncertainty about their availability for Monday's game.

“We have Cole [Palmer] who is a doubt, he was not in the session today,” said the Chelsea boss. “Levi [Colwill] was not in the session today, Enzo [Fernandez] was not in the session today, Romeo [Lavia] was not in the session today.

We have three or four players that are a doubt for Monday's game because in the last game they got some problems."

"Cole was the ankle. In the first-half, they kicked him. He didn't train today, we don't know if he is going to train tomorrow or in two days. The same situation for Romeo, Enzo and Levi."

The potential absence of these players would be a major blow for Chelsea as they look to end their poor run of form.

Their possible absences mean Maresca may be forced to change his starting line-up significantly with limited options.

The extent of the injuries remains unclear, but the Italian’s comments suggest they could be serious enough to rule the quartet out of contention.

Chelsea’s injury issues in defence saw the Blues recall Trevoh Chalobah on loan from Crystal Palace, and the defender could be thrown into the squad.
