'We have begun talks' — Juventus chief provides update on Pogba's future with the Old Lady

Juventus CEO Maurizio Scanavino has all but confirmed that Paul Pogba will leave the club and that they have begun conversations to that effect. 

The 31-year-old recently got a major reprieve after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced his four-year ban, which was handed to him after elevated levels of testosterone were found in his bloodstream, to 18 months. 

This would mean he would be allowed to return to match action by March 2025, but he would not be wearing a Juventus jersey on his return, as he is set to lose his job with the Old Lady. 

Following the news of Pogba's early return, reports surfaced claiming the Old Lady were planning to end their relationship with the French World Cup winner. 

Pulse Sports reported that Juventus head coach Thiago Motta refused to dispel the rumours, as he answered reporters by saying it was a situation for the club to deal with. 

The club's top brass, Scanavino, has now confirmed that they have begun talks with his agents, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the negotiations were about finding an amicable settlement for the midfielder’s exit. 

“I can confirm that we’re in talks with Paul Pogba and his camp to find a solution.”

Meanwhile, Marseille are reportedly interested in signing the former Le Havre academy man. According to reports, they hope to acquire his services in the winter transfer window, even though he would be unavailable until at least March.
